MunmuBaram Signs Transmission Service Agreement with KEPCO
(October 10th, 2024) MunmuBaram project has entered into a 1.125 GW floating offshore wind power Transmission Service Agreement (TSA) with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
The agreement was signed with KEPCO during an official ceremony alongside other developers in the Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Association. This achievement signifies a crucial commitment from KEPCO to ensuring a grid connection for the world’s largest scale(6 GW) of clean power to the national grid for many years to come.
MunmuBaram is collaborating with two other developers on the grid connection facilities. This facilities will enable the efficient transfer of clean energy from the MunmuBaram’s floating offshore wind farm located 60 kilometers off the coast of Ulsan to the mainland, ensuring a stable and reliable power supply while also playing a pivotal role in helping South Korea achieve its carbon neutrality goals.
The signing of the TSA with KEPCO is a significant achievement for Munmubaram, as it marks one of the most important milestones during the development phase. Munmubaram project team will strive the project development to complete the grid connection facilities by the date of commercial operation.
