MummuBaram participates in the 4th Offshore Energy Industry Forum
(April 3rd, 2025) MummuBaram Co., Ltd. participated in the 4th Offshore Energy Industry Forum, hosted by Ulsan Technopark and sponsored by the Korea Energy Agency. Centered on the theme “A Comprehensive Plan for Offshore Wind Development — Action Starts Now”, the forum brought together key stakeholders to address urgent challenges and explore practical solutions in the offshore wind sector.
Representing the MummuBaram project, Offshore Manager Woongwook Kim highlighted the critical need to resolve infrastructure bottlenecks. South Korea currently lacks sufficient port facilities and supporting industrial areas to accommodate the assembly and storage of floating foundations and wind turbines. Additionally, the absence of domestically available Construction Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) compels developers to rely on foreign fleets, increasing risks to both project timelines and budgets.
Kim stressed that a clearly defined long-term roadmap, along with bold public investment, is essential to unlocking greater private-sector involvement and accelerating the growth of the offshore wind industry.
With strong roots in Ulsan and a long-term commitment to clean energy, MummuBaram is actively working to resolve critical issues facing the floating offshore wind industry. The company is also contributing to regional development and driving energy innovation in South Korea.
