(November 4, 2026) MunmuBaram Co., Ltd. (“MunmuBaram”) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ulsan Technopark, UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology), and ACE Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd. (“ACE E&T”) to jointly launch the Regional and Industry-Tailored Floating Offshore Wind Workforce Development Program.
The MoU brings together Ulsan’s industry and academic institutions to systematically train skilled technical professionals for floating offshore wind. It is closely linked to MunmuBaram’s approximately 784MW floating offshore wind project, which is being developed about 65 km east of Ulsan, and aims to ensure that the region’s talent is ready as the industry takes shape.
Over the next three years, the partners will cooperate in the following areas:
Development and operation of workforce training programs
Provision of technical and practical education
Joint research and development in related technology fields
Use of research facilities and exchange of technical information
Joint seminars and technical advisory
A working-level committee, with at least one representative from each organization, will meet at least once per quarter to set specific objectives and review progress.
“Floating offshore wind will create a new industry in Ulsan, and its success will depend on the people who build, install and operate it,” said Youngkyu Ju, Project Director of MunmuBaram. “Through this partnership with Ulsan’s leading industrial and educational institutions, we will foster skilled technical talent locally, so that the economic benefits of this industry stay in the region. MunmuBaram will continue to work closely with our partners to make Ulsan a hub for floating offshore wind.”
