MunmuBaram Participates in National Assembly Forum on Advancing Floating Offshore Wind Industry
(March 30, 2026) MunmuBaram outlined its approach to advancing floating offshore wind at a policy forum held in Ulsan on 30 March, hosted by the Ulsan chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Youngkyu Ju, President of MunmuBaram and Austin Park, Project Director of KFWind attended as panelists representing the Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Association, contributing to discussions on development and execution strategies for the sector, with participation from a broad range of stakeholders, including civil society, academia, and industry.
Floating offshore wind is a key driver for both energy transition and industrial competitiveness. Ulsan is well positioned to support this growth, with its established capabilities in shipbuilding, offshore engineering, and port infrastructure.
MunmuBaram outlined a practical approach to advancing projects in a stable and practical way. In particular, the participation of state-owned generation companies was presented as an effective structure to strengthen project stability, reinforce public value, improve community acceptance, and enhance policy credibility.
The company also set out the importance of advancing large-scale commercial projects alongside the development of domestic supply chains and technical capabilities, identifying this as a key enabler for strengthening long-term competitiveness.
Youngkyu Ju said, “Floating offshore wind can only scale when industrial development and project execution move forward together. Ulsan has the potential to play a central role in clean power supply and future manufacturing, with opportunities to expand into the global market.”
MunmuBaram continues to advance its floating offshore wind project in Ulsan and remains committed to contributing to clean energy deployment and the development of a resilient industrial ecosystem.
